Photo Series: AAPI Tattoo Artists in NYC

This project is developed in collaboration with Columbia University’s Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM), a non-profit organization that is dedicated to organizing a series of events during the month of April to raise awareness about the issues faced by the AAPI community at large and celebrate our own unique, diverse identities.

The photo series involves documenting the space and process of different AAPI tattoo artists in the city to explore the artistic process and the role of culture in the artist’s artistic process.

You can expect:

  • 45 minute photoshoot with a 10-15 minute interview on your process and artistic practice

  • Selected edited images

  • Professional artist headshots (I am unable to offer financial compensation for your time, but hope that I can offer my skills in exchange for your time)

Queer Expressions of Love

This is a photo project that aims to highlight all forms of love experienced between queer people: romantic, platonic, and much more. This project means a lot to me, and I hope the photographs that are born from this series are able to help others find expansive forms and expressions of love they see themselves reflected in. I am looking to document the mundane and extraordinary moments of love that occur within a relationship. This shoot is highly collaborative.

If you are interested, please send me an email at bookings.gracestills@gmail.com with the Subject Line “Queer Expressions of Love” with person/people you want to be photographed with cc’ed on the email and a list of hobbies or shared activities between you and your partner(s). I will reach out to schedule a quick 15-minute call to get started.

You can expect:

  • 45 - 60 minute photoshoot

  • Selected edited images

If you have an outfit/makeup look that you are looking to showcase, this opportunity is for you! I’m looking to experiment with new shooting styles, angles, and poses. I am looking to push my own artistic process and hope that we can create together. I will be communicating with you throughout the shoot, so please let me know if you have any worries or hesitations. I will be there to guide you through all aspects of the shoot: styling, preparation, and posing etc.

If you are having trouble getting started, feel free to references the sample mood boards below. These boards are only intended to give you a better understanding of the feeling of the shoot and are just a starting point, so feel free to branch out and try new things.
